Employer match explained
A common match formula is 50% of employee contributions up to 6% of salary. This calculator models that structure and shows the gap between current contribution and full match capture.
Worked example
On an $80,000 salary, a 50% match up to 6% means the employee must contribute $4,800 to capture a $2,400 employer match. Contributing only 4% captures less.
Methodology
Employer match equals eligible employee contribution multiplied by the match percentage, capped by the selected salary percentage. It does not model vesting, true-up rules or plan payroll timing.
